Description
Authentic, true vintage Mid-Century 1950s Raffia wrapped wine bottle from the Italian Swiss Colony vineyard in Asti, California. Measure approximately 13" tall by 6" around middle. I grew up in an Italian-American family back in the 1950s and when the folks bought wine, which wasn't often as my grandfather made his own from his own grapes, THIS is what they bought and my dad called 'Dago Red': Chianti from the Italian Swiss Colony, on the old road heading to Ukiah, north of San Francisco, in wine country. This came out of his garage. You see lots of salt and pepper copies, but seldom see these actual old bottles with the plastic bottoms and original, black screw tops. 'Screw top connoisseurs', is how they referred to themselves. It looks great in the period kitchen, or any kitchen for that matter, as it adds a certain old time charm. Thanks for looking. Enjoy....
